Nichols Family of Danvers, Massachusetts, Papers, 1744-1919.

The John Nichols (1713-1792) Papers contains land agreements, receipts, and accounts. The Andrew Nichols (1757-1812) and Eunice Nichols (1757-1848) Papers contain: receipts; a license to sell spirits; a handwritten poem signed by Eunice, and estate papers. The John Nichols (1780-1840) Papers contain documents for a land transaction between John May Webster, Eunice E. Webster, and John Nichols and a paper on the estate of Emma Nichols, John Nichols's wife. The Andrew Nichols (1785-1853) Papers are divided into four subseries: Correspondence, Personal Papers, Writings, and Published Writings. The Mary Holyoke Ward Nichols (1800-1880) Papers include seven almanacs/diaries that cover the years 1826-1835 and letters written her by her nieces Sarah Page and Susannah Spillman. The Andrew Nichols (born 1837) Papers contain correspondence, a receipt, and poems written by his father, and newspaper clippings referring to Andrew Nichols. Related Family Papers consists of papers relating directly or indirectly to the Nichols family.

Elizabeth Perkins Stanley was born in 1836, the daughter of John Stanley (1789-1844) and Elizabeth Hunt (1797-1893) of Salem, Massachusetts. Around 1861, she married Andrew Nichols (1837-1921), the son of Dr. Andrew Nichols (1797-1854) and Mary Holyoke Ward (1800-1879) of Danvers, Massachusetts. After attending public schools in Danvers, Andrew Nichols moved to Salem, Massachusetts, where he worked for the insolvency court and probate court.
